Box Score 2 Freshman Emily Flohr (Liverpool, NY/Liverpool) had 20 kills and 13 digs in helping The College at Brockport sweep away their homecoming competition and increase their win streak to seven straight. Brockport won two matches 3-0 Saturday afternoon against D'Youville and Pittsburgh Bradford.
In the first match of the day, Brockport beat D'Youville in three consecutive sets by scores of 25-10, 25-17 and 25-19. In the team's second match, the Golden Eagles defeated Pitt-Bradford 25-16, 25-16 and 25-21.
Sophomore Amanda Riebe (Pleasant Valley, NY/Millbrook) and senior Jaime Snyder (Elmira, NY/Thomas Edison) got the team rolling to a 13-1 lead in the first set against D'Youville. In the first match since the two had combined for 17 aces, against Alfred University, the pair was once again dominant with their serves. They strung together several key series, in Saturday's matches, for the Golden Eagles as Riebe finished with eight service aces and Snyder finished with five.
Flohr was dominant with kills in the first match, using several high flying spikes to finish with nine kills, zero errors and a 0.600 hitting percentage. Junior Ashley Capone (Lowville, NY/Lowville) pitched in eight kills of her own against D'Youville and posted a near flawless 0.800 hitting percentage.
Brockport utilized 11 kills by Flohr and eight by Riebe as they cruised to victory over Pitt-Bradford in the team's second match of the day. Riebe finished the day with only one error and a 0.357 hitting percentage. Freshman Noelle Poloncarz (Orchard Park, NY/Orchard Park) led the Golden Eagles with 31 assists and Snyder led the team with 15 digs.
