Elsie Logan—on Senior Day as they square off against SUNY Poly. The Green and Gold will remain on their home floor the following afternoon, welcoming Utica University on Saturday, October 24th, for a 2:00 PM start.
Last Week Recap
Brockport sits at 7-10 overall and 1-5 in Empire 8 play after pushing a pair of conference opponents to five-set matches last weekend.
On Friday at Nazareth, the Green and Gold took a commanding 2-0 match lead after pulling out tight wins in the opening two frames (25-23, 26-24).
Kaylee Dickerson-Holly put together an impressive outing on the pin, hammering down a match-high 22 kills to go along with 15 digs, while
Ana Parella hit .333 with 12 kills. Setter
Kaitlyn Jewett handed out 45 assists, and libero
Elsie Logan led the back row with 22 digs. However, the Golden Flyers managed to chip away, capturing the next three sets to pull out a 3-2 victory.
On Saturday, the Golden Eagles returned home to challenge the top-seeded St. John Fisher. Brockport set the tone early by claiming the opening set 25-21 and later took a 2-1 match advantage behind a stingy third-set defensive performance that forced Fisher into 10 attack errors. Dickerson-Holly secured another double-double with 12 kills and 10 digs, while
Madisen Jones added nine kills and
Maddy Howell posted five blocks at the net. Despite the strong effort, St. John Fisher found its rhythm late, taking the final two frames to claim a 3-2 decision.
Scouting SUNY Poly
The Wildcats arrive in Brockport with a 3-19 overall record and a 2-5 mark in Empire 8 play, looking to snap a three-match losing streak after most recently dropping a 3-0 decision to Hartwick. Brockport has held complete control of the series historically, carrying a perfect 3-0 all-time record against SUNY Poly, including back-to-back 3-0 sweeps during the 2024 and 2025 seasons.
Scouting Utica
The Pioneers enter the weekend standing at 9-14 overall and holding a strong 5-2 mark in conference action. Utica recently saw its momentum checked in a 3-0 non-conference loss to St. Lawrence, though the squad previously put together a season-long five-match winning streak that included four consecutive Empire 8 victories. Brockport holds a 5-0 all-time record against Utica, with four of those wins coming in straight-set sweeps. Before traveling to Brockport on Saturday, the Pioneers will head to Geneseo on Friday night.
Up Next: Following the weekend home slate, the Green and Gold will hit the road to take on SUNY Geneseo on Tuesday, October 27th, at 6:00 PM. Brockport will then return to Vlogianitis Gym to host Alfred University for their Green and Gold Rush Game on Friday, October 30th, at 6:00 PM.
