The College at Brockport Men's Lacrosse team scored the last three goals of its game against St. John Fisher but was unable to overcome a five goal deficit and fell to the Cardinals 6-4 in a nonconference game Tuesday evening on Bob Boozer Field in Eunice Kennedy Shriver Stadium on the Brockport campus. Marcus Palvino (Rochester, NY/Spencerport) scored his first two goals of the season.

Brockport (0-4) could not overcome the extra-man opportunity discrepancy that the Cardinals possessed. Fisher was able to convert on four of its six extra-man opportunities while the Golden Eagles were not awarded a single man-up possession.

Trailing 6-1 late in the third period, Brockport attempted a late game comeback. Senior Clifton Jackson (Snyder, NY/Amherst) netted his first goal of the season with just under a minute remaining in the third quarter.

Four minutes into the fourth quarter, sophomore Colin Blind (Webster, NY/Webster Thomas) intercepted a Cardinal pass and streaked down the field not only clearing the ball for the Golden Eagles but ripping a low shot past the St. John Fisher goalie bringing the score to 6-3.

In the final minute of action, the Brockport offense scored the final goal of the game when Palvino sent the ball into the net on a pass from Nick Smith (Victor, NY/Canandaigua).

Sophomore goalie Conor Nowak (Amherst, NY/Eden) finished the game with nine saves. Blind had five groundballs and three caused turnovers. Freshman Zach Cook (Vestal, NY/Vestal) won three of five faceoffs for the Green and Gold.

The Golden Eagles return to action this Saturday against Keuka with the game on Bob Boozer Field on the Brockport campus at 2 pm.
