Box Score The College at Brockport Men's Lacrosse team stayed hot Saturday afternoon as it dominated its second straight game defeating Adrian 18-4 in a nonconference match in Michigan. Justin Cook (Endicott, NY/Union Endicott), John Countryman (Queensbury, NY/Queensbury), Jake Giudice (Webster, NY/Webster Thomas) and Marcus Palvino (Rochester, NY/Spencerport) each scored three goals or more for the Golden Eagles as the offense topped 15 goals for the second straight game.
Brockport (3-4) jumped out to an early lead utilizing extra man opportunities. After the first quarter of play Brockport led 6-3 as Countryman had two man up goals for the Golden Eagles. The second and third quarters were completely one sided as Brockport shut out Adrian while scoring 11 more goals.
Palvino scored all three of his goals in the second quarter while Cook scored three and Giudice scored two in the third. Brockport's final goal was scored by Countryman less than three minutes into the final quarter.
Cook led the team with five goals, followed by Countryman's four and Palvino and Giudice's three apiece. Also scoring for the Golden Eagles were Nick Ciampi (Jordan, NY/C.W. Baker), Casey Cleary (Cortland, NY/Homer) and Brendan Fitzgerald (Baiting Hollow, NY/Kellenberg Memorial). Countryman led the team with four assists while Giudice assisted on three of Brockport's scores.
The Golden Eagles offense controlled the ball for much of the game as it outshot the Bulldogs 47-13 for the game. Goalie Conor Nowak (Amherst, NY/Eden) picked up his third win of the season behind a solid defensive effort from Nick Smith (Victor, NY/Canandaigua) who totaled a phenomenal seven ground balls and Colin Blind (Webster, NY/Webster Thomas) who caused four turnovers.
Freshman Zach Cook (Vestal, NY/Vestal) continued to excel during faceoffs against Adrian winning a stellar 15-of-18.
Brockport returns home to face Hilbert on Wednesday at 4:00 pm in the Eunice Kennedy Shriver Stadium.
