Box Score Nina Tassone (Liverpool, NY/Liverpool) led The College at Brockport Women's Lacrosse team with three goals and two assists the Golden Eagles soared over William Smith 15-9 Tuesday afternoon at the Bob Boozer Field at the Eunice Kennedy Shriver Stadium.
Brockport (4-2) scored five unanswered goals in the second half to secure its third consecutive win.Â
Hailey Boronczyk (Syracuse, NY/Corcoran) scored two goals less than five minutes apart as
Andrea Zlinsky (Owego, NY/Owego Free Academy) picked up assists on both goals.Â
With just over fifteen minutes to play Tassone found
Jessica Boddery (Webster, NY/Webster Thomas) in front of the goal as Brockport scored off of a free position. The final two goals for the Golden Eagles were both unassisted as Tassone and
Amanda Klein (Baldwinsville, NY/CW Baker) connected.
Boddery got the scoring started for Brockport less than three minutes into the game with an assist from Tassone. Twelve seconds later
Makensie Schuber (Webster, NY/Webster Thomas) tallied another goal for the Golden Eagles with an assist from Zlinsky who won the draw control for Brockport following Boddery's goal.
Brockport scored three goals in a little more than one minute during the first half to extend its lead to 8-3. Schuber made a sharp pass to Zlinsky who quickly shot the ball, beating the goalie up top. Less than twenty seconds later Tassone scored unassisted as she fired a rocket past the goalie. Boddery capped off the streak with a low shot on a pass from Boronczyk.Â
William Smith (2-4) closed the gap between the two teams, by scoring five of the last seven goals in the first half. The Golden Eagles took a 10-8 lead to halftime.
Schuber, Tassone and Boddery each finished with three goals. Zlinsky recorded five points consisting of two goals and three assists.  Brockport finished with 38 shots while William Smith had 21.Â
Defensively for the Golden Eagles,
Colleen Hathaway (Watertown, NY/South Jefferson) forced three turnovers and picked up five ground balls.Â
Remle Harr made seven saves in her fourth win of the season.Â
Courtney Szczesniak (Liverpool, NY/Liverpool) led the team by securing four draw controls.
The Golden Eagles return home March 31 for their first conference game of the season. They will face Fredonia at 4 pm.
