Box Score The College at Brockport Men's Lacrosse team fell in a State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) matchup to nationally ranked Cortland 10-4 Saturday afternoon in Cortland as sophomore Conor Nowak (Amherst, NY/Eden) made 16 saves and held the Red Dragons scoreless in the third quarter.
Brockport (8-7 overall, 3-3 SUNYAC) quickly found itself in a 2-0 deficit less than five minutes into the game but answered back as freshman Colton Oliver (Fayetteville, NY/Fayetteville-Manlius) tallied a goal after a pass from sophomore Jake Giudice (Webster, NY/Webster Thomas).
The Golden Eagles outscored the Red Dragons 2-1 in the third quarter as sophomore Mark Robinson (Endwell, NY/Maine-Endwell) found Giudice in front of the goal. After nearly ten minute of scoreless play, Cortland tallied its sixth goal of the game to extend its lead to four.
Brockport answered back with a goal less than a minute later as junior Oliver Oswald (Penn Yann, NY/Marcus Whitman) caused a turnover and senior Justin Cook (Endicott, NY/Union-Endicott) beat the goalie stick side to cut the deficit to three entering halftime.
In the third quarter, Nowak tallied five saves en route to shutting out the Red Dragons that quarter. Giudice tallied the lone goal of the quarter, cutting Cortland's lead to two entering the final quarter. The Red Dragons tallied four goals in the fourth to hold on for the 10-4 win.
Giudice tallied two goals and one assist while Cook and Oliver finished with one goal each. Sophomore Colin Blind (Webster, NY/Webster Thomas) picked up four ground balls for the Golden Eagles. With the loss, Brockport was eliminated from contention for the SUNYAC Tournament.
