Junior Makensie Schuber (Webster, NY/Webster Thomas) and senior Nina Tassone (Liverpool, NY/Liverpool) each tallied four goals and one assist Saturday afternoon as The College at Brockport Women's Lacrosse team defeated New Paltz 20-11 in a State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) contest.  With the win, Brockport (9-6 overall, 5-3 SUNYAC) clinched the fourth seed in the SUNYAC Tournament.

The Golden Eagles had an 11-5 lead entering the second half.  After giving up a goal less than five seconds into the half, Brockport responded with two goals less than a minute apart.  Junior Keeley Rice (Potsdam, NY/Potsdam) beat the goalie down low for Brockport's twelfth goal of the game.  Junior Ciara McKeon (Westhampton, NY/Westhampton Beach) won the ensuing faceoff as sophomore Katie Curran (Hopewell Junction, NY/Arlington) found freshman Peyton Pallar (Penn Yann, NY/Penn Yann) in front of the goal.

New Paltz (3-11, 1-7) tallied a goal at the 26:19 to make the score 13-7 but Brockport answered with a goal less than thirty seconds later as Schuber won the ensuing draw control and darted into New Paltz territory to find freshman Andrea Zlinsky (Owego, NY/Owego Free Academy) in front of the goal.  A few minutes later senior Colleen Hathaway (Watertown, NY/South Jefferson) led a clear attempt for Brockport and passed the ball to sophomore Kelly Wall (Clifton Park, NY/Shenendehowa).  Wall found Tassone cutting to the net who tallied Brockport's 15th goal of the game.  McKeon won the ensuing draw control and junior Hailey Boronczyk (Syracuse, NY/Corcoran) scored unassisted nine seconds later.

After nearly seven minutes of scoreless play, Tassone broke the silence with a goal as Rice picked up an assist.  Two and a half minutes later Boronczyk tallied a goal with an assist from Zlinsky.  Sophomore Lauren Mancini (Liverpool, NY/Liverpool) capped off Brockport six straight goals with an unassisted goal at the 10:06 mark.  Brockport's final goal of the game was scored by McKeon as she received a pass from freshman Samantha Dooling (Kirkville, NY/East Syracuse-Minoa).

Brockport quickly jumped out to a 3-0 lead as Schuber, freshman Jessica Boddery (Webster, NY/Webster Thomas) and Wall each tallied a goal in the first seven minutes.   Brockport and New Paltz each recorded 14 shots in the first half but Brockport took an 11-4 lead to halftime.

Boddery finished with three goals and one assist while Boronczyk and Wall each tallied two goals and two assists.  Zlinsky and Rice recorded one goal and one assist a piece while Mancini, Pallar and McKeon each tallied one goal.  Hathaway led the team with four ground balls while senior Remle Harr (Farmington, NY/Fairport) recorded six saves in her ninth win of the season.

Brockport advances to the SUNYAC Tournament for the sixth straight year.  The Golden Eagles will host the number five seed Oneonta (7-10, 4-4) Tuesday at 4 pm.  When the two teams met earlier this season, Brockport won 17-4.
