SCRANTON, Pa. – The College at Brockport Wrestling team finished the season undefeated in dual matches taking a 29-12 road victory over Scranton University in its final match of the 2015-16 regular season Sunday morning with Dillon Stowell getting things started with a pin at the 125-lb weight class. The winning season is Brockport's 53rd consecutive winning season, 46 of which have come under head coach Don Murray.
Brockport finished the season 7-0 after seven Golden Eagles won their matches against the Royals heading into the Mideast Regionals in two weeks.
125-lb
Stowell won his match quickly with a pin 1:50 into the first period. The only pin of the day between the two teams.
133-lb
Eric Velez continued his personal win streak to 15 straight matches, winning by a 12-6 decision which put the Golden Eagles up 9-0.
141-lb
Sean O'Hagan defeated his opponent Liam Gallagher by an 8-2 decision which pushed the Brockport lead to 12-0.
149-lb
Jordan Dyer's forfeit victory pushed Brockport's lead to 18-0.
157-lb
Josh Brabon finished just four points shy of a victory, dropping a 7-4 decision to Ian Evans putting the Royals on the board with three points.
165-lb
Michael Falcon put the Golden Eagles back on winning track pulling out a close 6-2 decision. The Green and Gold's lead grew to 21-3.
174-lb
James Schreck dropped the closest match of the day, a 6-4 decision to Andrew Gombas. Brockport's lead fell to 21-6.
184-lb
Jeff Palmeri's 13-5 major decision victory secured an undefeated dual season for the Golden Eagles. Palmeri earned five points for Brockport which gave the Golden Eagles an insurmountable 25-6 advantage.
197-lb
The Royals' Derek Fisher claimed a six point forfeit victory which gave Scranton its final points of the match.
285-lb
Brockport's nationally ranked Cole Tristram scored the Green and Gold their final four points with a 9-1 major decision victory over Eric Calimano.
The Golden Eagles are off the remainder of the week but will return to action on Feb. 27 and 28 in Williamsport, Pa. at the Mideast Regionals hosted by Lycoming College.
