POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. – The College at Brockport field hockey team couldn't overcome a tough Vassar College team, falling 9-0 on Saturday.
The Golden Eagles move to 1-2 on the season while the Brewers improve to 3-1 on the year.
Brockport got off their best look of the match in the eighth minute, when
Christina Conkling fired a shot on goal. But Vassar proved to be too much, as they would go on to score nine straight to take the 9-0 win.
The Golden Eagles had two keepers earn minutes with
Olivia Landry picking up the start, and in over 38 minutes of action, made 10 saves.
Sarah Beam picked up the final 31 minutes of play, where she made six stops.
Brockport will be back in action on Sept. 11 when they take on Stevens Institute of Technology in Hoboken, N.J.
