ROCHESTER, N.Y. – The College at Brockport field hockey team ran into a tough University of Rochester squad on Thursday, holding the No. 13 team in the nation to just three goals in a 3-0 loss.
The Golden Eagles fall to 1-4 on the year, while the Yellow Jackets remain undefeated at 6-0 on the season.
Brockport saw their opponents net their first goal in the 12th minute, but held the Yellow Jackets at bay, only allowing one more score in the half, as Rochester would take a 2-0 lead into the break.
The Green and Gold held the Yellow Jackets to just one goal in the second half, as they would eventually fall, 3-0.
The Golden Eagles best look came on a shot from
Kaitlin Croghan, the lone look for the Green and Gold, while
Katherine Weyant came up big on the defensive end with a defensive save.
Sarah Beam got the start, and saw all 70 minutes of action, where she worked to make 14 saves on the day.
Brockport will be back in action as they wrap up their road streak at Hartwick College on Sept. 17.
