BROCKPORT, N.Y. – The College at Brockport field hockey team faced off in State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) action against SUNY Oneonta on Saturday, falling 3-0.
 
The Golden Eagles fall to 1-7 on the season and 0-2 in league play, while the Red Dragons move to 2-6 on the year and have a 1-1 mark in conference.
 
Brockport found itself trailing early, as an early Oneonta goal in the third minute made the score 1-0. The Golden Eagle defense picked up play, holding their opponents scoreless through the remainder of the half.
 
Again, the Golden Eagles saw the Red Dragons score in the opening three minutes of play, to face a 2-0 deficit. A third Oneonta goal would find the back of the cage in the 51st minute, to make the count 3-0. The Golden Eagle offense couldn't connect to find the back of the cage, as the 3-0 score would be come final.
 
Brockport fired 12 shots in the outing, with six shots on goal while earning six penalty corner opportunities.
 
Sarah Beam got the start, playing over 38 minutes and making four saves. Olivia Landry saw the final 31 minutes of action, also making four saves on the day.
 
The Golden Eagles will be back in action when they host Houghton College on Sept. 27.
