NEW PALTZ, N.Y. – The College at Brockport women's soccer team fought back from a 1-0 first half deficit to down State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) foes SUNY New Paltz on Friday, 2-1.
The Golden Eagles improve to 5-2-1 on the year and 2-1 in league play, while the Hawks fall to 1-9-2 on the season and 0-3 in the SUNYAC.
Brockport found itself in a hole early, after a New Paltz goal in the second minute set the Green and Gold back 1-0. The Golden Eagles fought to hold off the Hawks, and worked in a goal of their own just before the close of the half, when Kaitlyn Nierdermeier found the back of the net to knot the contest at 1-1.

Christina Leonardo burying a
Maddie Siclare set up to take a 2-1 lead at the 66 minute mark. Brockport's defense held off New Paltz, and held on for the 2-1 win.
"Today was an important win for us because we learned that we can come from behind in an important game," noted head coach
Mike Idland. "That is really important for a team to know about themselves when they're working to win a championship together."
The Green and Gold outworked their counterparts in several categories, including a 12-10 edge in shots and an 8-7 advantage in shots on goal.
Daniele Ogrodowski picked up her fifth win of the season, seeing all 90 minutes of action and making six saves on the day.
The Golden Eagles will continue their road trip tomorrow, Oct. 1 when they travel to SUNY Oneonta.
