Game Recap: Field Hockey |

Brockport drops 9-1 loss to Oneonta

BROCKPORT, N.Y. – The College at Brockport field hockey team struggled to find their momentum Saturday afternoon, falling to conference rival SUNY Oneonta 9-1. This brings their record to 4-10 overall and 1-3 in conference while Oneonta improves to 9-5 and 5-0 in conference.

The Red Dragons entered today's matchup a dominating force in the SUNYAC conference, a force the Golden Eagles valiantly fought to hold off. The solo goal of the game came from freshman Katelynn Mello who was coming off a strong performance the night before. Much like Friday night, Mello found herself on a breakaway towards the Red Dragons defensive circle and single handedly outmatched the goaltender for her fifth goal of the season. Mello currently ranks ninth overall on the SUNYAC leader board in points with 19.

Senior midfielder Kelsey Devine once again proved herself to be a major defensive asset, collecting two more defensive saves on the day and 10 overall on the season.

The team is back in action Wednesday for their second to last home matchup against St. John Fisher College at 7 p.m.
