SCHENECTADY, N.Y. – The College at Brockport field hockey team lost to Union College 5-0 on Wednesday night. The team falls to 4-13 on the season and 1-5 in conference.
The Golden Eagles got off to a slow start, finding themselves at a 2-0 deficit 10 minutes into the game. Goalie Adriana Dedie and the defense were able to hold the Dutchmen scoreless for the remainder of the half, allowing
Katelynn Mello and
Katie Ziemba to both seize opportunities for shots on goal.
Brockport was unable to capitalize on either of the other shot opportunities in the second half, leaving them at the hands of the Dutchmen offense. In the Golden Eagles attempt to switch things up, goalie
Cara Fox entered the game with roughly 20 minutes remaining. The freshman collected two saves on four shots faced on the night.
The team brings their efforts back home Saturday against Cortland at 2:30 p.m. for their last game of the season, where they will honor the efforts of their senior class.
