BROCKPORT, N. Y. – The College at Brockport wrestling program earned their first ECWC honor of the season as Elijah Sims was named the Rookie of the Week.
 
Sims impressed in the 133-weight class, taking a second-place finish in the New York State Intercollegiate Championships. His first match ended in a 12-5 decision before securing a 5:59 fall in his second bout. His third competition ended in a 16-6 major decision in favor of Sims before earning an 11-6 decision in the semi-final. Despite the final's loss, the freshman wrestler impressed against good competition.
 
Up next for the Green and Gold is the New Standard Invitational in York, Pa. on Friday, Nov. 30 and Saturday, Dec. 1, with the time to be determined. In addition, some Golden Eagles will travel to Niagara County Community College for the NCCC Tournament on Saturday, Dec. 1.
