YORK, PA.—The College at Brockport wrestling team competed in day two of the New Standard Invitational on Saturday and walked away with some hard-fought finishes.
Elijah Sims built on his strong day one performance as he earned a 10-6 decision to advance to the semi-finals of the 133-weight class. Unfortunately, Sims dropped his next two bouts and battled for the fifth-place position.
Ryan Snow finished similar to sim, but followed a different path. After losing his second bout on Friday, Snow proceeded to win four straight including a 13-2 and 16-7 major decisions. Unfortunately, the day ended in disappointing fashion for Snow as he dropped his final two matches to settle for sixth place. Collins dropped his quarterfinal matchup, but won his second bout in the form of a 6-4 decision. His night ended early after stumbling in his third battle of the day.
The Green and Gold will travel to Rochester Institute of Technology for their next competition as they battle the Tigers at 7 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 6.
