BROCKPORT, N.Y.—The College at Brockport men's basketball team defeated SUNY Potsdam in impressive fashion, as they never trailed in the 40 minutes of play. A near 20-20 game by
Justin Summers was the catalyst to a 78-63 win over a State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) opponent.

The game started with an 8-0 run by the Green and Gold, which was a lead they did not relinquish the rest of the way. Summers kicked it off with a made free-throw that was followed up by a jump-shot by
Devante Hagins and three-pointer by
Josh Nelson. Hagins added another jumper to secure the 8-0 advantage. The unit was not done their as a strong defensive showing allowed Brockport to jump out to a 22-4 lead at the 8:27 mark. Potsdam managed to cut their deficit to ten, but
Chris Atkinson nailed two jump shots, one from behind the arc, that brought the score to 35-20 at the break.
The second half saw consistent play by the Golden Eagles as they maintained a double-digit advantage throughout. The largest lead came at the 13:01 mark in the second frame, as Brockport used a 12-1 run to jump ahead by 25. The spree started with a layup by Hagins that was followed up by six straight points knocked down by Summers.

Potsdam did mount a comeback that cut their deficit to 10 at the 5:57, but the combination of Hagins and Summers proved to be too much as the team fell 78-63.
Summers showed out with 23 points, while securing a career-high 18 rebounds. Hagins shot an efficient 10-for-13 from the field, totaling 22 points and grabbing five boards of his own.
