GENESEO, N.Y.—The College at Brockport men's basketball team suffered a tough loss on Saturday by a score of 105-78 against State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) foe, SUNY Geneseo. The loss puts the Golden Eagles at 14-6 and a conference record of 9-4. The Knights now hold a 12-9 mark on the year, while staying 9-5 in SUNYAC competition.

The Green and Gold battled with the Knights for a majority of the first half. Buckets by
Hamed Shamseldin,
David Clark and
Dwayne Daniel helped tie the game or take the lead in the first eight minutes of competition. The deficit grew to eight points but even then, the Golden Eagles remained focus and continued to battle. A 7-0 run by the Knights brought the deficit to 20 as the horn for half-time sounded.

Brockport found themselves down by 22 at the 16:10 mark but put together a 15-5 run in the following three minutes to cut the deficit to 12. The run started with a three-point play by Shamseldin and
Justin Summers followed suit with a three-point play of his own. Daniel hit a three ball and made a layup after
Michael O'Hara contributed one of his own.
Tyler Collins sunk two free throws to complete the run and bring the Golden Eagles to within 12. Unfortunately, it is as close as the team got as Geneseo buckled down their defense and took control of the game.

The Green and Gold return home on Friday, Feb. 9 when they will host SUNY Oneonta for a 7:30 p.m. SUNYAC matchup.
