BROCKPORT, N.Y. – The College at Brockport field hockey team suffered a tough 1-0 loss to Nazareth College Wednesday night. The Golden Eagles fall to 1-1 on the season while the Golden Flyers improve to 2-1.
The game was a prime example of a battle of the defenses, resulting in both teams remaining scoreless through regulation. With a little over a minute left in overtime, the Golden Flyers found strength their offense and recorded the only goal of the game on a penalty corner to secure the win.
Despite recording a loss, goalie
Adriana DeDie had a strong performance for the Green and Gold. The senior recorded 11 saves on the night while holding down the net as the Golden Eagles got outshot 25 to 10.
Katelynn Mello,
Katie Ziemba and
Meaghan Lurz created opportunities for the Green and Gold, with each registering two shots and one shot on goal.
The Golden Eagles are on the road this weekend against Hartwick at 12 p.m. for the first of their six consecutive away games.
