ONEONTA, N.Y. – After falling in a nail biting overtime matchup on Wednesday, the College at Brockport field hockey team just couldn't get their momentum back, falling 8-1 against Hartwick Saturday afternoon. The Green and Gold are now 1-2 on the season while Hartwick improves to 3-0.
The Golden Eagles defense struggled to hold off the Hawks demanding offense, however goalies
Adriana DeDie and
Cara Fox combined for 11 saves on the day.
Freshman
Katelynn Mello held it down on offense, collecting the only goal while adding two of the teams four shots on goal, the other two shots coming from junior
Molly Scarpello. Brockport did get four penalty corner opportunities however were unable to find the back of the net.
The team is back on the road Wednesday for another non-conference matchup against the University of Rochester at 6 p.m.
