Brockport Dominates Elmira; Longin Ties School Record

Brockport, NY – The College at Brockport women's soccer team dominated Elmira at home for an 11-1 win on Tuesday in a non-conference match. Brockport advances to 11-5-1 overall on the season with one regular season game left to play.

Kiley Longin recorded a hat trick and added two assists to her tally on the day. With eight total points scored in the match, she ties the program record for the most points scored in a single game.

With 11 wins, Head Coach Mike Idland sets a new personal best single season record as the leader of the program. The team has not won 11 games since going 12-5-1 in 2013. The Green and Gold have won five straight contests now, the first time doing so since the team went 15-3-2 in 2012.

It seemed like everyone got in on the scoring action in the 10-goal victory for Brockport. Camryn Pettit scored two goals while teammates Marissa Greiner, Mara Zimmerman, Sydnee Smith, Lara Kanbur, Fiona Stockdale, and Molly Zientek each scored once.

Greiner, Longin, and Smith all notched two assists in the game. Brylie Hapeman and Franchesca Polcaro both had assists in the win as well. Senior goalkeeper Kimberly Lubanski made one save during her first half stint in net.

The Golden Eagles took control of the game early with nine first half goals. They would end up scoring 11 unanswered goals before Elmira found the back of the net mid-way through the second half.

Securing a 10-goal victory marks the largest margin of victory for the program since defeating SUNY Poly 10-0 back in 2006. It is only the fifth time in program history that Brockport has scored 10 or more goals in a single match.

The Golden Eagles are back in action on Saturday to close out the regular season at home against Geneseo. This SUNYAC battle is scheduled to begin at 1pm.
