Brockport, NY – The College at Brockport women's soccer team hosted Geneseo on Saturday for its final regular season match. The visiting Knights took a 1-0 win on the day, as Brockport will finish the regular season with a record of 11-6-2 overall and 6-3 in SUNYAC play.
The Golden Eagles have earned the No. 3 seed in the SUNYAC Tournament and will now host No. 6 Oneonta on Saturday, November 2nd at 1 p.m.
It was Senior Day for the Golden Eagles, as
Molly Zientek,
Mara Zimmerman, and
Kimberly Lubanski were honored prior to the match.
The score remained tied at 0-0 at the end of the first half, as neither team had much offense in the first 45 minutes. Geneseo outshot Brockport 2-0 in the opening period and had three more corner kicks.
In the 79
th minute of the game the Knights jumped on the scoreboard with the lone goal of the contest. Brockport would not be able to tie the score before the final horn, losing 1-0.
