Brockport, NY – The College at Brockport women's soccer team defeated Oneonta at home on Saturday in the first round of the SUNYAC Tournament, 3-0. The Golden Eagles will now advance to the Semi-Finals where they will travel to take on Cortland on Wednesday, November 6^th.
 
Kiley Longin put Brockport on the board early with a goal in the 16^th minute of play. The team held a 1-0 advantage at the mid-game break of the SUNYAC Quarterfinals match. The Green and Gold outshot Oneonta 15-4 in the first half.
 
In the first few minutes of the second half, Brockport drew a foul in the box on the offensive side of the field to get a penalty kick attempt. Franchesca Polcaro would do the honors, beating the Red Dragon keeper to earn a 2-0 lead for the team. In the 78^th minute of the match, Sydnee Smith scored a bar-down off a free kick for the third and final goal.
 
Longin increases her team-best scoring total to 15 goals on the year, as the freshman leads the team with a total of 37 points. Goalkeeper Kayla Usborne made five stops in the match, as she recorded her fourth shutout of the season.
 
#3 seeded Brockport advances to the Semi-Finals of the SUNYAC Tournament for the first time since 2013, as it will take on the #2 seeded Cortland Red Dragons on the road.
 
The SUNYAC Semi-Final match is scheduled to begin at 1 pm down in Cortland, on November 6^th.
