BROCKPORT, N.Y. –The College at Brockport women's lacrosse team defeated Plattsburgh State Saturday afternoon, by a score of 23-1. With the win, the Golden Eagles move to 9-1 overall and 4-0 in conference, while the Cardinals fall to 1-10 overall and 0-5 in State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) play.
HOW IT HAPPENED –
- The Golden Eagles surged out the of the gate, scoring 15 unanswered goals to start the first half.
- The flood gates were opened by Victoria Thompson, scoring her 20th goal of the season and giving the Green and Gold a one-goal lead.
- Following the Thompson goal, the Golden Eagles picked up scores from Heather Conklin (3), Allison Jennings (3), Chloe Kurst, Jade Williams (3), Hannah Cullen (2), Sara Grapevine, and Emma Nevers.
- Plattsburgh State ended the half with a goal of their own to head into the break trailing 15-1.
- The Green and Gold began the second half similar to the first, as Allison Jennings (4) sniped her fourth of the game off the stick of Hannah Cullen just three minutes in.
- The Golden Eagles continued to pour it on with goals from, Heather Conklin (4), Chloe Kurst (2), Sara Grapevine (3), Erin Wegrzyn and Briana Davies.
KEY STATISTICS –
- Allison Jennings and Sara Grapevine led the Green and Gold with seven and eight points respectively. Jennings had a team high, five goals and added two assists. Grapevine had a hat-trick of her own combined with five assists.
- Heather Conklin added four goals, bringing her season total to 35 and extending her scoring streak to 10 games.
- Julie Carballo demonstrated outstanding effort, picking up five ground balls and two draw controls.
- The Golden Eagles win-streak is now at six games.

The Golden Eagles will be back in action on Wednesday, April 10 when they travel to SUNY Fredonia, first whistle is set for 4 p.m.
