Alfred, NY – The College at Brockport women's tennis team secured themselves a 2-0 start for the first time since 2015, defeating Alfred 7-2 on the road.
The Golden Eagles took two of three match points in doubles play on the day.
Elizabeth Bean and
Linda Coleman-Lawrence took care of business with an 8-1 win in first doubles.
Sarah Mahar and
Andrea Banke nabbed the point in third doubles by way of a forfeit.
Caroline Stewart won the first singles slot 6-0, 6-3, while Bean got a win in sixth singles thanks to an Alfred forfeit.
Phoebe Morse earned a quick match point in the fifth singles spot, defeating Alfred's Isabelle Benoit 6-2, 6-1.
Sarah Mahar won her matchup in third singles in just two sets, by marks of 6-4 and 6-3. Teammate
Andrea Banke also got it done it two sets, earning Brockport a match point with set scores of 6-0 and 6-4.
The Green and Gold put an undefeated record on the line Sunday on the road against Roberts Wesleyan College. The match is scheduled to begin at 1 pm.
