Women's Tennis Opens Conference Play at Home

Brockport, NY – The College at Brockport women's tennis team is at home this Saturday to open up SUNYAC competition. The match is set to begin at 12 pm, with Fredonia coming to town.

Match Continuation: The Golden Eagles will also be heading back to St. John Fisher on Sunday to finish up the match from last week that was postponed due to the weather. The team is currently leading the Cardinals, 3-0, with all six singles matchups left to play. The contest will restart at 1 pm.

Strong Start: Brockport is currently 2-1 on the season heading into the weekend. The team has looked solid all-around in victories over Nazareth and Alfred. The Green and Gold won five of the six doubles flights in the two wins, earning a sweep against Nazareth in doubles to secure a 7-2 win. The squad took five of the six match points in singles play against Alfred, on the way to another convincing win.

Conference Play: The Golden Eagles begin SUNYAC play Saturday against Fredonia, to begin fighting for a spot in the conference tournament. Playing each SUNYAC opponent once in the regular season, the team closes the 2019 schedule out with five straight conference matchups.

Looking at Fredonia: The Blue Devils are 4-0 on the season, with a match to play against Houghton Thursday night before coming to Brockport. With an undefeated record so far, Saturday's match will be Fredonia's first SUNYAC action as well. The team has been taking care of business this year, which includes a clean 9-0 sweep of points in a recent win over Alfred.

Up Next: The Golden Eagles are on the road again next Tuesday for another SUNYAC contest against Geneseo. The match is scheduled to begin at 3 pm.
