BROCKPORT, N.Y. – The College at Brockport field hockey team picked up their second loss of the season Sunday afternoon in a close 2-0 matchup with Cedar Crest College.
The Golden Eagles put heavy pressure on the Falcons goalie from the start, amassing 28 shots, 22 of which were on goal, and nine penalty corners. Despite a strong offensive effort, the Green and Gold were unsuccessful in finding the back of the net.
Once again,
Katelynn Mello provided the Golden Eagles with their offensive momentum, notching five shots on goal in her total eight attempts.
Olivia Douglas and
Katie Ziemba weren't far behind, accounting for 10 shots and eight on goal collectively. Defensively,
Emma Acevedo provided the extra help the Golden Eagles needed to keep the Falcons at just two goals, collecting her first career defensive save.
The Golden Eagles have a light week ahead with a single matchup against Utica College on Wednesday at 7 p.m.
