HOUGHTON, N.Y. – The College at Brockport field hockey team improved their win streak to two with a solid 4-1 win over Houghton College Tuesday night. The Golden Eagles record improves to 6-2 overall, putting them in a good position heading into their first conference weekend against SUNY Cortland.
The Green and Gold saw scoring from four separate players, chalking the win up to a strong collective offensive effort. Junior
Meaghan Lurz came back eager to add to her success against Utica College, netting the Golden Eagles first goal of the game a quick three minutes in with an assist by
Katelynn Mello. The Green and Gold held this 1-0 lead for majority of the rest of the game as they successfully dominated the Highlanders offensive circle. Goalie
Cara Fox held things up on the defensive end as well, recording nine saves through three quarters.
With the end of the game approaching quickly, the Golden Eagles found themselves a burst of energy, netting three of their four goals in the last fifteen minutes of the game.

Renee Lauer executed two of the Green and Golds 15 penalty corners perfectly, notching goal three and four with their smart placement in front of the net.
Alyssa Fuccillo sealed the deal for the Golden Eagles in the final moments with a shot redirect from outside the circle by Ziemba for her fifth goal of the season.
The Golden Eagles wrapped up a successful night outshooting the Highlanders 18-13 and 13-7 on goal while producing eight more penalty corner opportunities.
