Caneadea, NY – The College at Brockport women's tennis team was on the road for non-conference action against Houghton College on Tuesday. The team improves to 4-3 overall on the season, with the 5-4 victory over the Highlanders.
In the third doubles slot, the pairing of
Eddiena Chaney and
Riley Warren earned the match point after going to the tiebreaker set. It would be the lone point for Brockport to come from doubles competition.
Elizabeth Bean took care of business in the third singles flight, getting the win in two sets 6-1, 6-1. Chaney followed up a win in doubles with a singles victory in the fourth spot 6-4, 6-4.
In the fifth heat for singles play,
Linda Coleman-Lawrence won the match point for Brockport by way of a 6-1, 6-1 victory.
Riley Warren defeated her matchup in the sixth slot of singles competition 6-0, 6-1 to help secure the win on the day.
The Golden Eagles are home this weekend for double the action in SUNYAC play. The team will face Oswego at 3 pm on Friday and Cortland at 1 pm on Saturday.
