Brockport, NY – The College at Brockport women's soccer team bounced back with a win on Saturday, 2-0, over Oswego.
Camryn Pettit concluded a strong weekend of play with two goals in the match, as the Golden Eagles improve to 5-4-1 overall and 1-1 in SUNYAC play.
Pettit put the Green and Gold on the board 33 minutes into the first half, giving the team a 1-0 lead.
Sydnee Smith and
Molly Zientek were credited with assists on the goal.
Brockport outshot the visiting Lakers 8-6 in the opening half, as it held a one-goal advantage at halftime.
Later in the match, the Golden Eagles drew a penalty kick opportunity in the 80
th minute. Pettit would step up for the attempt, beating to keeper for her second goal of the day. Brockport would hold its lead through the final horn, earning the 2-0 win.
Freshman goalkeeper
Kayla Usborne got the start in net, making seven stops in the shutout victory.
Brockport continues SUNYAC play next week when the team heads to Potsdam. The match is scheduled for 4 pm on Friday, Oct. 4
