BROCKPORT, N.Y. – The College at Brockport field hockey team commanded their third straight win in Saturday's matchup against Sage College, 4-0. The Golden Eagles improve to a perfect 3-0 on the season, with only one goal against them in all three matchups.

The Golden Eagles dominated the offensive circle throughout the entire game, outshooting the Gators 22-2 (19-0 on goal) while forcing their defense to record 15 saves.

Once again,
Meaghan Lurz took the offensive movement by storm, notching the first goal of the day a short five minutes in. The junior barreled her way through a scrum in front of the net, finding a perfect feed from
Katie Ziemba to squeeze the ball in on the right side of the net. The dynamic offensive duo then swapped rolls to end the period, this time with Ziemba catching the ball off a rebound to give the Golden Eagles a 2-0 lead. Ziemba came back for more only a couple minutes later, placing herself in perfect position in front of the net to receive a hard shot from outside the circle by
Taylor Weber.

The defense was essential in helping the Green and Gold maintain their momentum, only allowing the Gators to penetrate the circle for an opportunity twice. The offense hit a bit of a lull in the third quarter, however picked up right where they left off in the fourth, this time with
Katelynn Mello leading the pack. With ten minutes left to play, Mello picked up her second goal of the season, helping the Golden Eagles seal the deal 4-0.

Ziemba was a powerhouse for the Green and Gold, notching two goals and two assists in her five shots on net. This is the Golden Eagles strongest start of the season since 2012, when the team went 2-1 through three games.

The Green and Gold are back in action on Wednesday for their first road matchup of the season at Nazareth College for a 7 p.m. start.
