Brockport, NY – The College at Brockport women's soccer team hosted Houghton College on Saturday for a non-conference match. Brockport defeated the Highlanders, 2-0, improving to 2-2 on the season.
In the 33
rd minute of the contest, freshman
Kiley Longin buried her second goal of the year to put the Green and Gold up 1-0.
Sydnee Smith assisted on the first score of the game.
As the match approached halftime
Camryn Pettit blasted a deep shot for the second score, assisted by teammate
Cassie Parker. The Golden Eagles would enter halftime with a 2-0 lead, which held true to the final horn.
Freshman goalkeeper
Morgan Lupo got her second career start in net, making two saves and recording her first career shutout. Lupo is now 2-0 with 12 saves in her two starts in net for the Golden Eagles.
Brockport is on the road for its next contest, taking on Nazareth College in the annual Breast Cancer Awareness Game. The match is scheduled for Tuesday, September 10
th at 5 pm.
