BROCKPORT, N.Y. -  The SUNY Brockport women's basketball team closed out their home schedule Saturday afternoon in a strong battle with neighboring Geneseo. The team also took a moment to recognize their two senior team members, Emily Merrill and Bailey Pratt, for their hard work and dedication to this program over the last four years.

Highlights:
  • Bailey Pratt closed out her final game on home court in a standout fashion, sinking 6-of-13 attempts from the perimeter for 18 points. This is the third time this season that she has recorded six threes', putting her amongst Brockport's best in the record books.
  • Julianna Taylor followed suit as the second highest scorer of the afternoon, nailing 4-of-8 attempts from the paint and both attempts from beyond the arc. The junior also added a team high four assists, two blocks and two rebounds.
  • Chelsea Henry challenged the Knights forwards on both ends of the court, making her presence known under the basket. The sophomore crashed the boards hard, leading the team with nine total rebounds. Henry also sank eight points of her own and added three assists.
How It Happened:
  • The Knights offense came out hot in the first quarter, shooting an impressive 75% from the floor to take a 30-9 lead through the first ten minutes.
  • The Green and Gold regained momentum in the second, starting with long range success from Pratt. Kylee Rosbrook quickly followed it up with a jumper in the paint to move Brockport within closer reach.
  • Rosbrook would hit the boards again at 7:14, before the Golden Eagles offense was held to a standstill.
  • Riqiya Harris started things back up with a jumper at 4:17, putting the Green and Gold back within 20.
  • The second quarter was the team's strongest offensive outing of the day, shooting 41% from the floor.
  • The Golden Eagles found a hot spot from the perimeter as Erin Radack and Taylor each sank one from three before the half, putting Brockport at a 45-26 deficit with 20 to play.
  • Brockport started the third with an even stronger presence from outside the arc, sinking three straight three's – one by Henry and two from Pratt.
  • Now down 19, the Golden Eagles defense came ready to fight, holding the Knights scoreless for the first two minutes of the fourth quarter.
  • Zaria McCullough added Brockport's 10th three pointer of the day on a quick jumper from the left side with an assist by Harris.
  • The game would then lie in the hands of Pratt for the remainder of the game as the senior sank three straight from behind the arc to move the Golden Eagles within 16.
  • Anna Felice and Kayla Usborne held down the fort in the final minute, each with a layup to keep the Green and Gold competitive.
  • Despite a strong offensive effort in the second and third quarters, the Golden Eagles fell at the hands of the Knights 71-59.
Down the Stretch: The Golden Eagles have two more regular season contests left in the weekend ahead as they will travel to Cortland and Oswego on Friday and Saturday.
