#18 Brockport Hits the Road to Face Clarkson

Brockport, NY- The SUNY Brockport women's lacrosse team faces off against Clarkson for its first road game of the year on Wednesday, starting at 4 pm.
 
Last Time Out: Brockport was on the short end of the stick following a hard-fought loss against #18 Ithaca, losing 14-10 for its first loss of 2020. Ithaca's big first half was the difference, as the Green and Gold were not able to complete a comeback in the second half.
 
National Polls: In the latest national poll from the Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association, Brockport is now inside the top 20. After coming in at #20 last week, the team is now up to #18 in the country.
 
Staying Hot: Sophomore Allison Jennings continues her hot start to the season with her performance against Ithaca. Jennings added two more goals to her tally in the contest, giving her four on the season. She is currently third on the team in goals scored.
 
Top Performers: Chloe Kurst is tied for first on the team with eight total points so far. Kurst has notched a team-high six goals and added two assists. Natalie Strough is heading into Wednesday's game third on the team in total points. The freshman attack has registered three goals and two assists already just two games into her young career.
 
Milestone: Heather Conklin reached 200 career points on her assist for Brockport's eighth goal against Ithaca. Heather joins elite company by becoming only the sixth player in program history to record 200+ career points as a Golden Eagle. Conklin continues to make an impact by adding three more goals and an assist to her season total, following the Saturday's game. She currently sits at 201 points, just three behind Julia Decker (204) for fifth in school history.
 
Scouting Clarkson: Clarkson is currently 2-1 heading into the matchup with Brockport. The team most recently lost to SUNY Geneseo, 12-8, on Saturday. Clarkson looks to bounce back against the nationally ranked #18 Brockport Golden Eagles. Sydney Roderick is the leader in points with 14, while Aubrey Borgesi leads Clarkson in goals, tallying 9 so far this season.
 
Up Next: While the rest of campus leaves for spring break, the women's lacrosse team travels to Maryland on March 14th. Brockport will battle the #7 team in the nation, Salisbury University at 11am.
