Brockport, NY - The SUNY Brockport men's lacrosse team is at home Tuesday evening for a matchup with Nazareth College. The game is set to begin at 4 pm.
Last Time Out: The Golden Eagles took care of business in the season opener with an, 11-3 win over Alfred University. They led just about the whole game, scoring eight goals in the first half. Brockport starts the 2020 season 1-0 after the home victory.
Holler at Halleran: Brendan Halleran was fantastic in the win over Alfred. The junior scored a career-high four goals and had one assist to total five points on the day. Halleran notched the hat trick with 8:08 still to go in the second quarter and then scored goal number four before halftime. After scoring 12 goals just a season ago, he is already a third of the way to matching that total just one game into 2020.Â
Trust in Felice: Goalie John Felice got the start in net against Alfred, earning his first win of the year. He faced 34 shots in the game, making 15 saves and allowing just three goals. The sophomore currently owns a saves percentage of .833 and is 1-0 between the pipes. He also was able to scoop up four ground balls in the win.
Multiple Point Scorers: Three other players racked up at least two points in the season opener for the Green and Gold. Owen VanWie tallied three points on two goals and one assist. Rocco Santillo had one goal and one assist, while Patrick Sheridan also had one of each.
History Repeated Itself: It was 2018 the last time Brockport won its season opener at home. That year the team also defeated Alfred to open the campaign, 7-6.
Scouting Nazareth: The Nazareth Golden Flyers are 1-2 to start the 2020 season. The team defeated Springfield, 14-10, in the season opener before dropping two straight heading into Tuesday's game. Nazareth fell to RIT, 21-10, and Endicott, 13-7. Three games into the year, Jeremy Jacob has emerged as the leading scorer with seven goals and two assists. Eric Almquist has started every game so far in net for the Golden Flyers. The goalie has totaled 40 saves on 129 shots faced and has allowed 41 goals so far.

Looking Ahead: The Golden Eagles are at home for their third straight game on Saturday. They play host to the SUNY Delhi Broncos for some more non-conference action. Game is set to begin at 2 pm on Bob Boozer Field.
