Sophomore goalie
Andrew Taylor of the SUNY Brockport men's soccer team was named the Prestosports SUNYAC Defensive Player of the Week in a release by the conference office on Monday.
Playing a total of 210 minutes in two games, Taylor picked up the win in SUNY Brockport's 3-2 double overtime win over nationally-ranked No. 10 SUNY Cortland on Saturday afternoon. After facing seven shots the day prior against Oswego State, Taylor would go on to record 13 saves while facing 27 shots against the Red Dragons. The 13 saves set a new career high for the sophomore goalkeeper.
Taylor now ranks third in the league with 44 total saves this season. He has a 5-5-1 overall record in goal for the Golden Eagles.
Brockport returns home from a six-game road trip on Friday when the Golden Eagles host Plattsburgh State at 3 p.m. The Golden Eagles will also host SUNY Potsdam for Senior Day on Saturday as Potsdam comes to town at 1 p.m.
