SUNY Brockport men's soccer senior standout Alex Rivara was named to the 2025 United Soccer Coaches NCAA Division III Men's Scholar All-East Region Team as a defender, adding another prestigious honor to an already decorated postseason résumé.

Rivara's accolades this season include United Soccer Coaches All-Region III Second Team, Empire 8 Defensive Player of the Year, and Empire 8 All-Conference First Team recognition. He was also recently selected to the 2025–26 Academic All-District Men's Soccer Team for the NCAA and NAIA divisions, honoring his excellence both on the field and in the classroom.

A nursing major, Rivara carries a 3.92 cumulative GPA, well above the 3.50 threshold required for academic recognition. On the pitch, he started all 18 matches for the Golden Eagles during the 2025 season, contributing four assists from the back line.

Rivara played a key role in anchoring one of the Empire 8's top defenses, helping Brockport record eight shutouts while limiting opponents to an average of 1.33 goals and 10.1 shots per game. A constant presence throughout the postseason, he logged every minute of Brockport's playoff run.

The Golden Eagles concluded the 2025 campaign with an 11-5-3 overall record and an 8-1-2 mark in Empire 8 play, advancing to the Empire 8 Conference Championship match. The 11 wins marked Brockport's most in a single season since 2018.
