Field Hockey Falls 7-1 against Cortland

Brockport, NY – The Brockport field hockey team fell to SUNY Cortland in Saturday evenings competition. The Red Dragon's bested the Golden Eagles by a tally of 7-1 for the final score.
SUNY Cortland managed to score seven straight goals before Brockport could answer late in the game with the lone goal coming off the stick of Katie Ziemba.
 
For Cortland, five different players scored as Hanna Corrigan lead the charge for the Red Dragons scoring two goals and three assist recording seven points in the game. Keirra Ettere, the team's leader in points, scored two for the Red Dragons goals adding to her total giving her a total of 34 points this season.
 
For Brockport, Katie Ziemba added to her career records by picking up the Golden Eagles only goal of the game. The goal came at the 54:38 minute mark of the game off an assist by Kayli Burr. Starting in goal for the Golden Eagles was that of Emma Acevedo who managed to record 14 saves in three quarters of play. Ella Buchanan returned to action in today's game in the cage playing the entire fourth quarter where she managed to make three saves against the Red Dragons.
 
Looking at stats Cortland outshot Brockport 30-6 as the Red Dragons also managed to outnumber the penalty corners category by 13-5. In foul's, Cortland picked up 25 in the entire game against that of only 13 from Brockport.
 
The Golden Eagles return to action on Tuesday, October 5th at home against the University of Rochester. The game is set to start at 7:15pm on the Dr. Linda Arena and Class of '69 Field Hockey Venue
