Oneonta, NY – The Brockport field hockey team won in thrilling fashion as the game was won by Graduate Student
Katie Ziemba who scored both goals for the Green and Gold in the double overtime victory against Oneonta. Brockport now advances to (6-6,1-2)( on the season with Oneonta falling to (2-7, 1-2) this season.
Katie Ziemba scored the first goal of the game ti get the Golden Eagles on the board first at the 15:42 mark of the game. The goal marked Ziemba's 10th goal of the season and was assisted by
Olivia Hayden.
The Golden Eagles would hang on playing great defense not allowing the Red Dragons to score. With 2:32 remaining in the game Oneonta's Claire Mahoney would find the back of the cage to even up the game and send it into overtime.

Katie Ziemba called game scoring her 11th goal this year with another short pass assist from
Olivia Hayden. The double overtime goal would give the Golden Eagles the win as the team will now prepare for Medaille College when they travel to Buffalo, NY on Tuesday, October 12th for a 6 p.m. game.
Brockport fired off 31 shots in the whole game with 20 shots being on goal. Oneonta was so fortunate shooting the ball 13 times and only finding the shots to go on goal eight times. The Golden Eagles also edges the Red Dragons in penalty corners (22) compared to Oneonta (11).
Kristy Campana played goalkeeper for Oneonta recording 17 saves and two goals allowed for the Red Dragons.
Emma Acevedo once again stepped up big for the Golden Eagles. The Junior played the entire 75:41 in goal while making seven saves in the game.
Racking up the stats this season for the Golden Eagles, Ziemba Is having a record breaking year. Her 11 goals and 26 points this season ties her for 6th in both single season goals and points in Brockport program history. Meanwhile for her career, with her two goals in today's contest bumps her up tied for third place in goals with 27 and is now ranked 3rd place in program history with 69 career points.
