The SUNY Brockport women's basketball team defeated host William Smith 66-61 on Saturday evening at Bristol Gym in Geneva, NY.  The Golden Eagles are now 4-0 to start the season for the first time since 2006.  Brockport graduate student Erin Nolan had her best game of the young season as she posted 17 points and grabbed seven boards.  Senior guard Chelsea Henry netted a season-high 16 points and was a perfect 8-for-8 from the free throw line, including six key free-throws in the final 20 seconds of action, to help pace the Golden Eagles. 

Brockport returns to the hardwood at home on Tuesday when it hosts RIT for a non-conference matchup at 6 p.m.  William Smith's record fell to 1-1 on the year. 

Brockport trailed 10-8 at the end of the first quarter before exploding for 27 points in the second quarter to take a 35-28 lead into the locker room at the half. Brockport's strong second quarter came courtesy of 12 points off turnovers.  The Golden Eagles outscored the Herons 17-7 over the course of the first 4:40 of the second quarter to take a 25-17 lead.  The run was sparked by two key 3-pointers from Anna Felice. Felice finished the day with 14 points on 4-of-9 shooting from behind the arc. Felice leads Brockport with an average of 17.3 points per game this season and she already has 16 3-pointers made through just four games. 

William Smith was able to cut their deficit to just three points on two occasions in the third quarter, but a quick 6-0 run in a span of 1:20 late in the third helped the Golden Eagles maintain a four-point advantage, 49-45, heading into the final ten minutes of regulation. 
 
William Smith made the game interesting in the fourth and pulled to within just one point, 59-58, with 1:46 remaining on the game clock.  However, a perfect 6-for-6 effort from Chelsea Henry at the charity stripe in the final 20 seconds of the contest helped to keep the Herons at bay. 

Kylee Rosbrook chipped in with six points and three rebounds, while Molly Mahony, Zoe Zutes, Hali Lucia, Serena Sordetto and Anna Lee each scored atleast one point for the Golden Eagles. 

William Smith had three double-digit scorers, including Brooke Jarvis (19), Lauren DeVaney (13), and Oliva Parisi (13). DeVaney and Parisi each recorded a double-double with ten boards.
