Brockport, NY – The SUNY Brockport women's basketball team lost to RIT, 60-46, dropping its first game of the season.
Erin Radack scored her season-high 12 points to lead Brockport in scoring, as the team moves to 4-1 on the year.
Radack totaled 12 points and five rebounds to lead the squad.
Erin Nolan finished with eight points, while
Kylee Rosbrook had seven.
Chelsea Henry posted six points, four boards, four assists, and two steals.
The first quarter went back and forth, as the teams traded baskets early on. Tied at 10-10, the visiting Tigers would gain a slight edge in the final minute.
Erin Radack would complete a 3-point play on Brockport's final possession, as the team trailed 14-13 after one.
The Golden Eagles would put together a strong second quarter effort on both sides of the ball. They would outscore RIT, 16-10, in the period to enter halftime with a 29-24 lead. Brockport shot 50% from the field in the second.
RIT got it going in the third quarter to take control of the game. The Tigers went 8-for-8 at the foul line and 7-for-15 from the field to outscore the Green and Gold 23-8 in the period. RIT entered the fourth with a double-digit lead.
Brockport was unable to close the gap in the final period of play. RIT outscored the home team again in the fourth, 13-9, to secure the win. RIT moved to 2-1 on the season and handed Brockport its first loss of the young season.
Kaleesha Joseph and Alyssa Juergens both posted double-doubles for RIT in the win. Joseph had 19 points and 14 rebounds, while Juergens had 13 points and 10 boards. Emma Waite also broke double-digits with 13 points on the day.
The Golden Eagles are back in action this weekend as they travel to take on Hilbert College. The contest tips-off at 4 pm on Saturday, November 27
th.
