The nationally-ranked No. 15 SUNY Brockport wrestling team currently sits in seventh place with 23.5 team points following day one of the New Standard Invitational hosted by York College in Pennsylvania on Friday. The tournament will continue Saturday at 9:30 a.m.

Nationally ranked 125-pounder Matt Caccamise defeated David Rubin 20-4 in his first match of the weekend and he will now take on Ithaca's Matt Griffin on Saturday morning.  Heavyweight Richard Knapp made quick work of Ursinus's Amir Pickens in his lone match of the evening as he pinned Pickens in just 32 seconds.  Knapp will take on Ithaca's Nick Galka in the quarterfinals on Saturday. 

Brockport's Chris Eames (184) won his first match of the day following a bye as he topped Michael Conrad from Stevens Tech by way of an 8-6 decision.  He will take on USMMA's William Sims in quarterfinal action on Saturday. 

197-pounder Joe Benedict pinned Jaleel Jones of Averett at the 5:17 marker of his opening match and will now take on Michael Dooley of Stevens Tech in the quarterfinals on Saturday. 

133-pounder Zach Levey edged Averett's Mason Barrett by the score of 3-2 in his lone match of the night.  He will take on Luke Hoerle from Stevens Tech on Saturday in the quarterfinals. 

Max Yahre is currently 2-1 in the 157-pound weight class.  He opened the day with a fall victory over Justin Valdoria before losing to Hunter Gutierrez of Stevens, 13-0.  Yahre then topped Luke Masterton and will take on Ithaca's Wenchard Pierre-Louis in the consolation bracket on Saturday. 

Marquis Larmond is currently 2-1 in the 149-pound weight class, while Austin Reed went 1-1 on day one.  Matt Kline is currently 2-1 and will take on Anthony Taylor on Saturday morning in the consolation bracket of the 165-pound weight class.
