Brockport, NY – The #13 Brockport Women's Lacrosse team is on the road once again Wednesday, as it opens up SUNYAC Western Division play against Geneseo. The Golden Eagles are set to battle the Knights starting at 4 pm.

Still Ranked: The Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coach's Association released its updated poll rankings on Monday, March 22
nd. The newest votes have the Green and Gold remaining in the #13 slot despite its recent loss. Holding onto its spot in the IWLCA poll, Brockport will gear up for another nationally ranked opponent in #16 Geneseo.
Last Time Out: The Golden Eagles fell to #12 Ithaca College, 9-7, in the 2021 season opener over the weekend. Newcomer
Anna Leva led the way with a hat trick, notching three scores in her first game in the Brockport colors. Goalkeeper
Morgan Elmer had a strong performance in net, making 16 saves in the contest.
SUNYAC Defensive Player of the Week: Junior
Morgan Elmer's play against Ithaca earned her the status of SUNYAC Defensive Player of the Week to start the 2021 season. Elmer's 16 saves against the Bombers tied her career-high for a single game. The veteran goalkeeper also scooped up a team-best four ground balls for Brockport.
Running the Offense: Leva had the three goals, but she wasn't the only player making an impact on offense.
Allison Jennings recorded one goal and one assist in the loss to Ithaca.
Natalie Strough,
Heather Conklin, and
Cassidy Burnash all found the back of the net as well on the day.
#13 Brockport v. #16 Geneseo: This contest is marked as the season opener for the #16 Geneseo Knights in 2021. Since the 2020 season was shutdown prior to the beginning of SUNYAC play, Brockport and Geneseo haven't played each other since Brockport defeated Geneseo 13-4 in the 2019 SUNYAC Championship on May 4
th 2019.
Looking Ahead: The Golden Eagles will hold their home opener on Saturday, as they welcome Buffalo State for their first home game since March 7th, 2020. This weekend's contest is set to start at 1 pm.
