Last Time Out: The Golden Eagles lost a close one to Alfred, 8-7, in the season opener on March 20th. They held a 6-3 lead at halftime, but a strong third quarter by the Saxons tied the score up at 7-7 going into the final period of play. Brockport was unable to match a late score from Alfred, losing by just one goal. The team won the turnover battles, but struggled securing a face-off throughout the day.

Putting up Points: The Green and Gold had four players put up multiple points to start 2021. Liam O'Connor leads the team with three points on two goals and one assist. Brendan Halleran and Owen VanWie each beat the goalkeeper twice in the loss to Alfred. Brandon Sveda also had two points, tallying one assist and one goal.

Brick Wall Defense: Aidan Fitzgerald and Jahadi Prior both have caused four turnovers to lead the defensive effort on the field. Michael Coletti has forced three turnovers and scooped up a team-high three ground balls. James Mirabell and Max Riley have combined for six caused turnovers in just one game so far.

In the Cage: John Felice is currently 0-1 as the starter in the cage this season. He has faced 28 shots in one game of action, coming away with five saves and allowing eight goals. Felice looks to get in the win column at home this Friday.

Home Opener: Friday marks the first home game of the 2021 season, and Brockport's first home game since March 7th, 2020. The Green and Gold have won two of its last three home openers, including a 11-3 win over Alfred in the 2020 home opener. With over 365 days between now and the last home game, Brockport will be fired up to play in its own stadium.

Looking at Oswego: With two games already being cancelled to start 2021, Oswego will be playing its first match of the season on Friday. The Lakers were supposed to open against Morrisville State on March 17th and then play Oneonta on the 20th, but both contests have been postponed/cancelled. Oswego was 3-1 last year before the COVID-19 shutdown and the team finished 2019 with a record of 8-6 overall and 3-3 in the SUNYAC.

Up Next: Brockport will get another week to prepare for its next contest, as the squad will host Geneseo for another SUNYAC matchup. Game is set for 4 pm once again at Eunice Kenney Shriver Stadium.
