Brockport, NY – The Brockport women's tennis team opened its spring 2021 season on Saturday by hosting Fredonia. The Green and Gold fell to the visiting Blue Devils, 6-3, staring the year 0-1.
 
Andrea Banke and Linda Coleman Lawrence took a point for the Golden Eagles in the second doubles slot, earning the 8-6 win in the set. Linda secured a second point with a win in third singles by set scores of 6-4. 6-0.
 
In second singles Sarah Mahar scored Brockport's third point of the match, taking the win in three sets 4-6, 6-4, 7-5.
 
Fredonia earned three uncontested points in the match in the third doubles slot, as well as the fifth and sixth singles spots. The Blue Devils improve to 2-1 overall and 1-0 in the SUNYAC.
 
The Golden Eagles are back at home on Monday for another conference matchup with Geneseo. It all goes down at the Brockport Tennis Courts starting at 5 pm.
