BROCKPORT, NY – The nationally-ranked No. 14 SUNY Brockport women's lacrosse team has earned the top seed in the western division and will host the two-seed from the East, SUNY Oneonta, in the semifinals of the SUNYAC Conference Tournament on Thursday at 4 p.m.

The SUNYAC Tournament Championship game will be played on Sunday May 2
nd. If the top two seeds, Cortland and Brockport, win the game will be played at Cortland. If Brockport and Geneseo win the game will be played at Brockport. If Oneonta and Cortland win the game will be played at Cortland. If Geneseo and Oneonta win the game will be played at Oneonta.
National Rankings: Brockport moved up one spot to No. 14 in the latest release of the IWLCA Division III National Poll. Geneseo ranks 16
th nationally and Cortland ranks 17
th. Other notable regional programs in the top 25 include #7 Ithaca, #10 St. John Fisher, #19 William Smith and #21 Hamilton.
Red Hot Golden Eagles: Brockport has now won nine straight games. The green and gold are currently 9-2 overall, with their only losses coming against No. 7 Ithaca and No. 16 Geneseo. They are 6-0 at home this season. Brockport has outscored their opponents 168-55 over the course of the nine-game winning streak.
Frontrunner for Player of the Year: Graduate student
Heather Conklin has made the most of her final season as a Golden Eagle. She leads the league in both points (60) and goals (48). Her 48 total goals rank 21
st nationally. Conklin is the program's all-time leader with 215 career goals. She currently ranks third all-time with 268 career points and needs just eight points to tie
Kelly Wall '17 for second place all-time. She also had 232 career draw controls and 118 ground balls.
Coach of the Year Candidate: Brockport Head Coach
Stephen Wagner, in his 10
th season with the Golden Eagles, has his eye on his fourth SUNYAC Coach of the Year selection in the last five years. He won the award in '16, '17 and '19. Wagner now has 109 career victories at Brockport and he has guided the Golden Eagles to the Conference Tournament in ten straight seasons. In 2016, Wagner was named the IWLCA Empire Region Coach of the Year.
Regional Rankings: Brockport ranked No. 5 in the latest NCAA East Region Rankings released by the NCAA Division III women's lacrosse national committee on April 20
th. The regional rankings were the second of four sets that will be released to the public and they will be used to determine both NCAA tournament bids and seeding. The final rankings will be generated on May 2
nd and are used to determine the NCAA tournament selections which will be released on May 3
rd.
Postseason Regulars: The Brockport women's lacrosse program has solidified itself as a national power over the course of the last ten years. Since 2010, the Golden Eagles have won 142 games, including 63 conference victories. They have made five NCAA Tournament appearances and advanced to the second round of the NCAA's on four occasions. The green and gold have made the SUNYAC Tournament Championship game six times this decade and the 2019 edition of the Golden Eagles took home the SUNYAC Conference Tournament Championship.
Getting it Done On Both Ends: Brockport leads the SUNYAC with an average of 17.00 goals per game. They also lead the league with a 7.18 team goals against average. They have the most shots on goal in the league (290) and the highest shot % (50.4). They lead the league in draw controls (161) and rank second in ground balls.

Natalie Strough leads the SUNYAC and ranks 12
th nationally with 34 total assists this season. As a team, the Golden Eagles rank 12
th nationally with an average of 9.55 assists per game.
Allison Jennings and
Danielle Hemly rank second on the team with 15 assists per game.
Defensive Player of the Week, AGAIN: Goalie
Morgan Elmer has been named the SUNYAC Defensive Player of the Week four times this season. Elmer ranks 11
th nationally with a save percentage of .580 and she leads the league in total saves (102). He goals against average of 7.98 ranks third in the SUNYAC.
So Many Weapons: Strough ranks second on the team behind Conklin with 51 total points (17 goals, 34 assists).
Allison Jennings ranks third with 45 points. Six Golden Eagles rank in the top 14 in scoring in the SUNYAC, including Conklin (1

The Possession Game: Conklin leads the team with 48 draw controls this season. Six players have at least 11 draw controls including Conklin,

Alexandria VanDerKar (11). Elmer leads the team with 29 ground balls, while Cunningham ranks second with 19. Hibbard ranks third (18).
A Closer Look at The Red Dragons: Oneonta comes to Brockport after earning the No. 2 seed in the SUNYAC East with a 5-3 overall record. They have won two of their last three games. They recently took 1-seed Cortland down to the wire, but ultimately fell 14-12. Lily Avazis leads the team with 29 points on seven goals and 22 assists this season. Megan Folles ranks second on the team with 25 total points. Jennifer Tumino is the anticipated starter in net for the Red Dragons and she heads to Brockport with a 9.25 goals against average and a .526 save percentage. Oneonta is coached by Brandi Lusk who is in her 14
th season at the helm.
