Last Time Out: The Golden Eagles split with the Buffalo State Bengals in Monday's doubleheader. They fell in game one, 1-4, before bouncing back strong with a 9-1 victory in game two. Brockport has a habit of splitting doubleheaders this season, holding a 5-5 record overall and in SUNYAC play.

Home Stretch: The Green and Gold are in the midst of an eight-game home stand, which will close out the regular season. After playing two in the home opener against Buffalo State, the team will now host Oswego, Fredonia, and Geneseo all on the home field

Bats Coming Alive: After just putting up one run in game one against the Bengals, Brockport got hot in the second go around. After the leadoff batter Olivia Hayden got on base in the first inning, Emma DeJesus was able to bring her home on a sacrifice fly. This would spark a six-run inning for the Golden Eagles that featured a double RBI single from Molly Ryan. They would score nine runs off of 15 hits in the contest.

Circle Work: Julia Palopoli (2-2) earned the winning decision in game two against Buffalo State, pitching the full five innings. She gave up just one earned run off of four hits and struck out four batters. Despite the game on loss, Catherine Johnson (3-2) kept the game close with her effort in the circle. She struck out six and only walked two batters, while allowing four earned runs in a complete even-inning game. Palopoli has the team's top ERA of 2.39, while Johnson leads the pitching staff with 33 strike outs.

Leading Off: Olivia Hayden continues to shine in her leadoff role, going 4-for-8 at the dish against Buffalo State with two stolen bases and one RBI. Hayden is batting .425 for the season and leads the Green and Gold with 17 hits. She also leads the team with 10 runs scored and is a perfect 8-for-8 on stolen bases.

Postseason Approaching: The SUNYAC Tournament is scheduled to begin its opening round of play on Saturday, May 8th. The Golden Eagles have three doubleheaders left to play before the conference tournament bracket is finalized. They will have to finish strong and fight for a spot in the postseason.

Looking at Oswego: The Lakers are 6-10 overall and 4-8 in SUNYAC play after recently splitting their doubleheader with New Paltz. Brockport and Oswego split the last time the two teams met at Oswego. Oswego took game one, 5-2, and Brockport bounced back for a 9-3 win in the second game. Zoe Mennig leads the team with 27 hits, 13 RBIs, and three homers while maintaining a .519 batting average. Pitcher Madison Hoeflich is 4-3 in the circle, while fellow pitcher Fiona Higgins leads the team with 44 strikeouts.

Looking at Fredonia: The Blue Devils are currently 4-8 overall and 4-4 in the SUNYAC heading into the weekend. Fredonia split its last doubleheader with Oswego and will face both Buffalo State and Geneseo prior to coming to Brockport on Sunday. Katie Yudin leads the team with 11 hits and owns a batting average of .379. Yudin (2-2) also leads the pitching staff with 16 strikeouts this season.

Up Next: Brockport is at home for its final regular season matchup on Wednesday, May 5th. Geneseo comes to town for a doubleheader at Clark V. Whited Complex for a 3 pm start.
