Brockport, NY – The No. 14 Brockport women's lacrosse team defeated Oneonta at home on Thursday, 16-7, in the SUNYAC Tournament Semifinals. The Golden Eagles advance to the SUNYAC Championship game, where they will travel to face Cortland on Sunday, May 2nd.

Heather Conklin led the way again with five goals and six draw controls. Allison Jennings also had a big day with four goals in the postseason victory. The Green and Gold has now won 10 consecutive games and continue to fire on all cylinders heading into the conference title game.

Danielle Hemly and Logan Hibbard got it started for the home team, scoring early in the contest to give Brockport a 2-0 lead. After Oneonta scored its first goal of the contest, Natalie Strough found Allison Jennings for a score that sparked a run of six unanswered goals for the team. The Red Dragons took advantage of some man-up opportunities, as they found three quick scores to cut into the lead. Brockport would hold a comfortable 9-5 advantage at halftime.

Morgan Elmer was huge with eight saves in the first half, as Oneonta placed 13 shots on goal compared to Brockport's 11. Both Logan Hibbard and Heather Conklin posted hat tricks with three goals in the first half of play.

Conklin picked up right where she left off to start the second half, scoring two quick goals to give Brockport an 11-5 lead. With two goals each in the second half, Allison Jennings and Danielle Hemly would both complete hat tricks to help put the game out of reach. Oneonta would find a goal in the final five minutes, but it was too little too late. The Golden Eagles secured the nine-goal triumph, which propelled them into the championship game this Sunday.

Conklin's full stat-line featured five goals, six draw controls, one caused turnover, and she was 4-for-6 on free position shots. Hibbard had an impact in every aspect of the game, finishing with three goals, one assist, two draw controls, three ground balls, and one caused turnover.

Morgan Elmer remains as solid as ever in the cage, coming up with 15 saves against 22 Oneonta shots on goal. Brockport's aggressive attack offensively earned 18 free position attempts in the contest, which led to five players scoring off of free position shots.

Sophia Calabrese and Deirdre Buckley both registered hat tricks for the Oneonta Red Dragons, as their season comes to an end. Goalkeeper Jennifer Tumino made nine saves in the game, as Oneonta finishes 2021 with a 5-4 overall record.

The Golden Eagles now prepare to defend its 2019 SUNYAC Title on the road against Cortland on Sunday. The championship game is set for a 1 pm start time.
