The SUNY Brockport men's and women's track and field teams head back to Geneseo this weekend for the Roundtable Invitation. the meet is to take place over the course of two days with Friday's events starting at 2pm with a 1pm start time the following day. Last weekend at the Geneseo Early Season Invitational the men's team posted 173 team points, while the women compiled 130 team points.
Let em' Throw: Tony DeYoung was named this weeks SUNYAC Field Athlete of the Week after he got his outdoor season started strong with a victory in the shot put, as he threw for 15.19 meters. The Brockport throwers look to dominate the hammer throw again after taking the top four finishing spots last meet.
Matthew Jackson wants to stay as the top finisher at this meet after having thrown a collegiate best of 50.81m.
Elijah Washington will compete with Jackson after having previously finished second with a throw of 50.03 meters.
Matt Faulise placed third (49.39 meters) and DeYoung placed fourth with a toss of 46.38.
DeYoung also added a victory in the discus with a toss of 46.79 meters.
Devin Kipp,
Art Jordan and
John Demy finished in third, fourth and fifth place in the discus with throws of 45.86m, 45.07m and 40.70m, respectively. The discus throw was a collegiate best for both Jordan and Demy.
On the women's side, Alayna Fredenburg won the javelin throw with a collegiate best toss of 38.48 meters.
Sarah Crockett and
Emma Kinnicutt were the top two finishers in the women's shot put. Crocket posted a throw of 13.01 meters, while Kinnicutt added a toss of 11.24 meters in her collegiate debut. The duo also took third and fourth place in the women's hammer throw. Crockett posted a toss of 43.61 meters and Kinnicutt registered a throw of 42.79 meters in her first collegiate meet. Kinnicutt also added a first place finish in the discus with a throw of 37.70 to cap an impressive collegiate debut and plans to do the same this upcoming weekend.
Hoping to give it all they've got and advance a few finishing positions are
Jack Brundage,
Mike Panzarino and
Elijah Washington who placed second, third and fourth in the javelin throw. Brundage led the Golden Eagles with a throw of 47.96, while Panzarino added a distance of 42.26 meters and Washington posted a toss of 40.85 meters.
Jump Around: All-American
Chanyce Powell got her season started and aims to keep on pushing forward with a win in the triple jump as she posted a distance of 11.05 meters. Powell also placed second in the long jump with a distance of 5.12 meters.
Mia Montgomery added a third place finish in the triple jump with a leap of 10.62 meters.
Egypt Page and
Taj Shaw push to keep the top two spots in the long jump. Page posted a distance of 7.17 meters in his first jump back since the 2020 indoor season, while Shaw added a long jump of 6.89 meters. Shaw also won the triple jump with a leap of 13.87 meters in his first jump back since last indoor season.
Sarah Killip posted a clearance of 1.50 meters to place second in the high jump, while
Gillian Laco added a second place finish of her own in the pole vault (2.90 meters).

Devin Kipp finished 1-2 in the men's 100 meter dash with times of 11.20 and 11.26 and look to do so again.
What's Next: Following this weekends event the green and gold will send there distance runners to Roberts Wesleyan on Friday April 16
th, before hosting the Brockport Multi-Invitational in a two day event on Sunday and Monday April 18
th and 19
th. The firs day of competition Saturday will start at 10am with a 12pm start the following day.
