Rochester, NY – The SUNY Brockport women's soccer team bounced back with a 4-0 win on the road against St. John Fisher on Saturday. The team's record improves to 2-1-1 overall on the season.
Brylie Hapeman led the way with two goals in the contest, notching her first two scores of the season.
Kiley Longin made her season debut on the day, finishing with one goal and one assist.
Sydnee Smith also found the back of the net, scoring her second of the young season.
Ellen Walpole and
Lara Kanbur were both credited with an assist in the contest.
Kayla Usborne played the full 90 minutes in net, making five saves on the way to a clean sheet.
The Golden Eagles wasted no time at all to get the scoring started in this contest. Just 1:14 into the match
Sydnee Smith scored off of a
Kiley Longin assist to put the team up 1-0.
Holding onto a 1-0 lead approaching halftime,
Brylie Hapeman got set up by
Lara Kanbur for a score to take a two-goal lead into the break.
Early on in the second half, Brockport would make it a 3-0 lead. After missing the first three games of the season,
Kiley Longin was welcomed back to the pitch with an unassisted goal in the 56
th minute.
With less than 12 minutes remaining in regulation, the Green and Gold would add an insurance goal from
Brylie Hapeman to go up 4-0. It was Hapeman's second of the day and the assist went to
Ellen Walpole.
The Golden Eagles are back at home on Wednesday, September 15
th when the host the Wolves from Keuka College. The action gets started at 4 pm for this non-conference match.
